A mindful mix of movement and breath designed for wellness in the modern world

Introduction

Introduction

I have practised yoga for many years, found it to be extremely beneficial and have recently qualified as a yoga teacher. I am the founder of Keen Soul Yoga, I am Helen Talbot (formally Keen), hence the business name.

Classes are designed by me and are a fusion of all my favourite styles of Yoga Asana, including various styles of Hatha, from a traditional Vinyasa flow to more modern Forrest or Yin with Chinese medicine healing poses from Qigong or embodied movement focussed Somatics. Classes are created specifically to suit the students' needs, as well as teaching poses and breathing techniques to help you navigate through any external challenges society may be facing at the time. I like to talk to my yogis about not only what I am teaching but why I am teaching it and how it may benefit them, encouraging yogis to develop a regular practice as a way of life, not just a weekly exercise class.

As well as teaching different styles of yoga I will often teach different styles of breath work or meditation, often modernised by me to make it more relevant to modern times and easier to understand.

I am offering group classes; one to ones; sports therapies (for example cyclists and runners); outdoor yoga during the summer months and bespoke sessions for businesses or private groups.

In my previous life I enjoyed over 20 years as a leader and coach for a global FTSE 100 listed company. Therefore I bring a wealth of experience of working with people, as well as designing classes that are suitable for many of life's challenges that present themselves such as menopause symptoms, recovery from injury and illness and mental health challenges that are present or brought on by modern life.

I am delighted to be offering introductory free taster classes, charity fundraisers and other incentives to get you started on the Keen Soul Yoga journey with me so please click here to find out more and hopefully book your first class! I look forward to practising with you soon.

“I am very passionate about passing on what I have learnt about how yoga can help with healing from trauma and illness, as well as just getting through the day-to-day challenges of balancing a busy career with a busy home life and improving your overall physical and mental health.
One thing that has always resonated with me from my early days of practising yoga, and has never left me, is that yoga is a way of life not just an exercise class. I have made it my mission to help people to live a more fulfilled and healthy life, being able to see more clearly, be aware of their own bodies and what they need and don't need and being able to develop coping mechanisms for dealing with stress and anxiety and be truly grounded. “
